It has become fashionable to be green and energy efficient these days. But from the time we started in the early 1990s Chatsford has been designed with energy efficiency and alternative energy supplies in mind. This resulted in Electricorp awarding us their Gold Medallion for Energy Efficient Buildings in 1992.

In recognition of the value that it has added to the business and wider community, Chatsford was awarded a Civic Development Award by the Otago Chamber of Commerce in 1993.

Chatsford is also an Accredited Member of the Retirement Villages Association of New Zealand (RVA). We joined this association many years ago as part of our commitment to providing quality services within our village. By establishing a compulsory RVA Accreditation programme the Association provides a means of assuring existing and potential residents that accredited villages are responsible and committed to meeting resident's needs.
